I started playing golf at age 5, and by the age of 17, I knew it would be a lifelong passion. For the past 24 years, my life has been golf-focused with an ambition for both playing and teaching.
I grew up in St. Ives Country Club in Johns Creek, GA where I won the Club Championship in 1999 and 2000. In 1998, I finished 2nd in the Georgia State Junior Championship in Moultrie, GA and had multiple other top 20 finishes in prominent tournaments throughout the Southeast.
Beginning in 1999, I went on to play Division 1A Varsity Golf at Mercer University in Macon, GA, through both athletic and academic scholarships. During my college career, I was ranked as high as 13th in the nation for Division 1A and as a top 90 amateur golfer in the world (via Golfweek rankings).
Following college, I played professional golf on the Hooters Tour for a brief period then began a career in the Telecom industry. During that transition, I had to change my thought process from a competitive, all-consuming life of golf to figuring out how to incorporate my passion for the sport with a new business career. It was a challenging time of growth, but I found life more rewarding as I began to help others grow a love of golf and discovered ways the sport intertwined in my career with telecom as well.
That growth has led me to incredible experiences the past 17+ years playing with customers, friends, and family in charity golf tournaments, challenging myself in amateur tournaments, and being provided opportunities to coach others. It’s a great day when I can get to the course for practice and even better if I can help someone else while I’m there.
